European Court of Auditors criticizes weaknesses in the planning and selection of energy efficiency projects
Today, the European Court of Auditors presented the Special Report “Energy Efficiency in Business: Some energy savings, but weaknesses in planning and project selection”.
Green energy expert in the European Parliament Jutta Paulus comments:
“Energy efficiency must finally become the focus of European energy policy. The report of the Court of Auditors shows that the EU Commission and the Member States have neglected the full potential of energy savings. Energy efficiency, the comprehensive expansion of renewable energies and the expansion of the energy infrastructure are the three pillars of an independent and sustainable EU energy policy. With the current waste of energy we will not reach the EU climate target.”
